A lively retired couple wanted to update this beautifully located but very outdated 1980's home outside of Jackson, WY. We gutted the old kitchen and created a lovely, bright open space by removing part of a wall, putting in a new Marvin window, stainless appliances, bright white cabinets with glass and interior lighting, LED cable lighting and an eating/prep island on brushed steel legs to make the area feel larger. The focus of the open living area is the Colorado limestone fireplace, mantel and hearth with custom steel fireplace doors. The limestone was quarried, measured and cut in CO and sent to the home for installation. The finished result is contemporary yet warm and welcoming in the winter and cool in the summer. The idea of the brushed steel was carried through the renovation with a custom designed steel and cable stair railing to the second floor. There are three bedrooms, three full baths and one half bath. The new, random width oak hardwood floors and completely refinished oak cathedral ceilings complete the transformation in this easy to car for and elegant retirement getaway.
